Patricia A. Crowley
December 10, 1933 ~ February 21, 2023
Patricia A. Crowley (née Campling), 89, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2023 at Beverly Hospital surrounded by family members. She was born on December 10, 1933 in Methuen, MA. She grew up spending her summers on Rye Beach, where she worked as a waitress.
In 1955, Patricia married her husband, Robert. They moved to Danvers, MA where they raised their six children. The Crowleys quickly became a fixture in their neighborhood. A life-long Catholic, Patricia would attend Mass at St. Richard’s in Danvers, and in later years, would attend daily Mass virtually. Patricia was known by many names in life; Pat or Patsy to friends and family; Mom or Ma to her children; Grams, Grammy, or Ammy to her grandchildren; and Meme to her great-grandchildren.
After her husband’s death in 2003, Patricia had the opportunity to travel the world with her sister, Louise, and her sister’s family. She traveled the world, but her favorite destination was Hawaii. When not traveling, Patricia could often be found spending time with her grandchildren. She was a skilled knitter who loved to make baby sweaters and afghans. In addition, she did daily crossword puzzles and word searches and always kept up with the Danvers news. She would speak to her sister every night at 9:05pm and, after her sister's passing in January 2023, her nieces and nephews took up the tradition.
Patricia is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Marie Louise Campling, her sister, Louise O’Connell and her husband, Robert F. Crowley. She is survived by her children; Deborah Bailey and her husband Dwight, David Crowley and his wife Mary, Maureen Rutter, Patrice Amirault and her husband Laurence, Karen Dobson and her husband Richard, and Christopher Crowley and his wife Nan. Additionally, she is survived by her 7 grandchildren, Amber, Dylan, Stephanie, Ryan, Corinne, Kaitlin, and Margaret, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 10AM in Saint Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Monday, February 27, 2023 from 4-7PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. The family kindly requests that flowers be omitted. Pat was one of the first people I met when we moved in next door to her & Bob. My first memory was needing to use her phone because my service was knocked out during a snowstorm, Se graciously let me in, Made me a cup of tea and we sat and chatted about living in “Beaver Gulch”. I was seven months pregnant and her kind welcoming nature shone though then, and always. Miss her ❤️
