Patricia J. Kornachuk

DANVERS- Patricia J. (Collins) Kornachuk, 93, passed away on July 30th, 2023 in Kaplan Family Hospice House. She was the wife of the late Walter M. Kornachuk. Born in Andover on October 13, 1929. She was the daughter of the late William and Josephine (Wholey) Collins. Patricia was born and raised in Andover and graduated from the former Punchard High School. She went on to receive her bachelor’s degree from Salem State College in education. Patricia was a freshman English teacher at St. John’s Preparatory School for 20 years. She had been a substitute teacher for the Danvers School System for several years. Patricia resided in Danvers for over 70 years. She was a devoted Catholic and was a communicant of Saint Mary of the Annunciation Parish and the Carmelite Chapel. Patricia and Walter had been members of the Danvers Mr. and Mrs. Club for many years, where they met many life-long friends. Pat was an avid reader and loved bridge, dominos and tennis. She also loved traveling and playing golf with many friends. She is survived by her 5 children, Patrice McCarron and her husband, John of Columbus, Ohio, Walter Kornachuk and his wife, Jeanne of Danvers, Andrea Kornachuk of Arlington, Lisa Kornachuk of Danvers and Mark Kornachuk and his wife Joyce of North Andover. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren, Jeremy McCarron, Lindsey Modlich, Shanna Alexander, Hayley Randall, Kaitlin Kornachuk, her 7 great grandchildren, Poppy, Rosie, Iris, Evelyn, Max, Elodie and Everett. She is also survived by her sister Josephine Gemmell of Andover and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, William, Paul, Arthur, Justin, Julianna Collins and Evie Barry. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10AM on Friday, August 4, 2023 in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Visitation will be held 5-8PM on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St. Danvers.
