Peter A. Demeule, 79, of Beverly, passed away in his home on November 12, 2024 following a lengthy illness. He was the loving husband of Naureen (Blair) Demeule with whom they shared 39 years of marriage.
Born in Peabody on July 11, 1945, he was the son of the late Albert and Anna (Kanellos) Demeule. Peter was one of the first graduating class from Bishop Fenwick High School in 1963. He received his bachelor’s degree from Salem State College. Peter had a long career as a special needs teacher and retired from Hogan Regional Center after 30 years of employment. Peter also served our country with the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged.
Peter was a huge sports fan and especially enjoyed cheering on the New England sports teams. He also was an avid reader and looked forward to trips to the Beverly Public Library. In his younger years Peter was very active, running, working out at the YMCA, cooking, gardening and landscaping his yard.
In addition to his wife, Naureen, he is survived by his children, Harmony Pini and her husband, Rob of Florida, Lucas Demeule of Beverly and Trenda Wallace and her companion Walter Pondelli of Tewksbury, his sister Marcia Crowley of Hamilton and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Katelyn Knowlton.
His funeral services are private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Peter’s name to The Friends of the Beverly Public Library, 32 Essex Street, Beverly, MA, 01915.
