  1. I am so very saddened to read of his passing. Such a wonderful person…My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this difficult time. We will surely miss his presence at Gloucester’s Market Basket. 🙁

  2. I worked with Peter for the last decade at Gloucester MB, and must say..I could not have asked for a better boss. Mr.Sauchuk was small in stature, however a very large presense at MB. Working tirelessly, but never too busy to stop and greet you with a smile, and a “how you doing”. He would always have the same response whenever I asked him “how you doing? FANTASTIC!. We will forever be greatful for the time we had with him, he made the world a better place.RIP Mr.Sauchuk, you will be missed.

  3. Peter was an individual that you will never forget. A great boss and an even greater individual. He will be greatly missed. Gloucester won’t be the same without him. RIP!!!

  4. I worked with Peter in Danvers when I was in high school back in the 80s. He was such a great boss, if he only knew how little work I use to do. I then moved to Gloucester and well and behold peter was there. I would be there every Friday with my daughter to shop but most importantly was to see peter and shoot the breeze. great guy will be missed. nick v

  5. It is with great sadness that we say so long to a good friend, Peter Sauchuk, Sr. I have known Pete since we were kids. He was also the husband of one of my best friends and sister in love, Kimberly Tinkham Sauchuk. He loved Kim and his family with all of his heart and did everything possible to make sure they knew it.

Pete had a way of making me and all of his friends and family feel like he was always happy to see us and whatever we were talking about was important. He was one of the most caring and unselfish people I know. A great friend to have. Although I haven’t had an opportunity to spend time with him recently, I will miss him as much as if it was yesterday.

God bless you and everyone who loves and will miss you, Pete. Give everyone who passed on before you a big hug and kiss for us. ❤️

  6. Peter was a great manager. The Day I had to quit, he told me I would always be welcome to come back. Any time I came into the store, I’d seek him out to say hello. When I found out that he had passed, I was very sad to hear the news. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. Until they meet again!

  7. OMG, Pete, come shake me from this bad dream I am having. How can you have died so suddenly with no notice and leaving all your friends and family to wonder why. I know, you’d tell me who ever said life is fair. But by all accounts everyone who knew you, worked with you or shop where you worked, whether in Danvers or Gloucester, said you were the finest kind. A gentleman always. A good listener, well spoken, well informed, (in particular when it came to sports), and always ready to lead by example, such as stocking and arranging his Gloucester store’s front end! Pete was always available to this chatty customer to talk Patriots, Bruins, Red Sox, even some horse racing. And we have laughs together until we ran out of steam! Pete I’m going to miss you so. You so often made my morning or afternoon. I weep as I write this. I know I have lost a best friend forever; I console myself knowing that many many other people feel the same way. God bless you Pete. You made the world a better place.

  8. I have known Peter for a very long time. I had the privilege of being his assistant for seven years. He set the tone of working hard and taking care of your people. We shared a lot of experiences and laughs over the years. He will be greatly missed.

  9. I worked for Peter in the Market Basket in Gloucester. Kind smart well spoken. Great sports fan (a little weak on the Red Sox) Just a (A) person. Until we meet again Peter may the wind always be at your back.

    Your Friend
    Steve!!
