Philip C. Geggatt, 88, of Danvers, died October 6, 2026, at Beverly Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen M. (Jankoski) Geggatt, with whom he shared nearly 67 years of marriage.
Born in Falmouth, he was the son of the late Richard and Adeline (Crosby) Geggatt. One of ten children, he was raised in Falmouth and graduated from Falmouth High School, where he was a four-sport letterman.
Phil served his country for 20 years in the United States Army, with assignments at Nike sites across the United States and in Germany. In 1977, he and Kathleen settled in her hometown of Danvers, where he began a second career with Sylvania. He devoted 25 years of service to the company before his retirement.
Never losing his Falmouth roots, Phil loved returning to the Cape, fishing the canal and visiting Woods Hole. An avid fisherman and a chronic tinkerer, he was a talented “Mr. Fix-It,” always happy to put his skills to use. For the past 18 years, he and Kathleen enjoyed wintering in Venice, Florida, where he especially enjoyed playing cards.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his children, Philip C. Geggatt Jr. and his wife Theresa of Raymond, New Hampshire, Michael Geggatt and his wife Holly of Amesbury, and Karen Alley of Danvers; his two sons-in-law, David Iannitelli and Mike Alley; his grandchildren, Nicole, Joshua and Taylor, Caitlyn, Angela, Dana, Meggie, and Shane; and great-grandchildren, Jason, Gaetano, Lara, Mason, Aubreigh, Joseph, Philip, and Isaiah. He also leaves his brother, Sterling; his sister, Dorothy “Chicky”; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Laura Iannitelli.

I loved Uncle Phil and have fond memories of him sitting around the dining room table enjoying cantaloupe and conversations with Grandpa. Sports was usually the topic. He wasn’t around for awhile as he was in the military in Germany but we enjoyed visits with him when he got back home. I will always be thankful for the day he and I got to got to go the Red Sox preseason game in Florida. We had such a great time. I will miss his smile.
I love and will miss Uncle Phil. He was an inspiration to me. So much so that I joined the military and served in Germany like he did. His strong work ethic and dedication to his family were true acts of love I admired. He worked hard and sacrificed daily for his family and did things with purpose and pride to make sure they were safe, secure, comfortable and felt loved. He showed love in action, not just words. I learned some of lifes greatest lessons from him. Rest in Peace Uncle Phil 🙏 time to reunite with your beloved baby daughter, Gram and too many others. Hug them all for me. Love ❤️ remains Truly, Tracy
