Phyllis (Cataldo) Holubiak

Phyllis C. (Cataldo), Holubiak, 90 of Danvers, passed away on January 12, 2011 at Kaplan Family Hospice House surrounded by her family. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Phyllis was born on Dec. 27, 1920, the daughter of the late Antonio and Mary (DeVitto) Cataldo. She was raised in Boston's old west end in the Catholic faith. She was married to the late Stephen Holubiak in 1942. Phyllis worked as a seamstress for more than 20 years for a Boston manufacturer. Together, she and her husband raised four children, Charles Holubiak of Derry, NH, Maria Rosato of Danvers, Eleanor Hardie of Ossipee, NH and Maryellen Carpenter of Revere. Later, she enjoyed spending time with ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. In her retirement Phyllis enjoyed her time with her family. She was also an avid knitter and amongst all of the sewing projects she lovingly created for her family. She was most proud of the wedding attire she made for her granddaughter’s weddings. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 10AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Visiting hours are Friday from 4-8PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
