Phyllis Pyburn

Phyllis F. (Gambale) Pyburn, 87, died early Sunday morning, Oct. 3, 2010 following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph Pyburn, who predeceased her in 1983. Born in Lynn on Jan. 15, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Gambale. She was raised and educated in Swampscott and was a graduate of Swampscott High School. Mrs. Pyburn owned and operated a hairdressing shop out of her home for many years. A Danvers resident for 45 years, she was a communicant of Saint Richard Church. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Roberta Pyburn and Michael and Elaine Pyburn, all of Danvers; five grandchildren, Sean, Joseph, Benjamin, and Allison Pyburn and Joanne Maynard and her husband David; three great-grandchildren, Hunter, Lee Ann, and Travis Maynard; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Mary and Marion. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010 at 9 a.m. in Saint Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Pyburn's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
