So sorry to hear about Ralph! He was part of the fabric of our YMCA, a member of the family! Every time I saw him he made me smile. We will miss him terribly!
We are deeply saddened upon hearing of Ralph’s passing. We were lucky enough to be neighbors with Ralph and have spent some time with him socially in the past. He was a kind, gentle and sweet man with a heart of gold. He enjoyed a good story and a good joke and he will be missed. The neighborhood won’t be the same without him. May he rest easy. Our deepest condolences to his family and friends.
Ralph was a legend at the Melrose YMCA still working out and participating the community as an Elder Statesmen – always with a smile and a good story. I have known Ralph since back in the 1980\’s when he was working out with Ray and a few other guys – always joking but always focused on the Old School weight lifting techniques and how the YMCA was a foundation of his health and great attitude. I\’m shocked to hear of his passing because I talked with him recently on the second floor at the YMCA. Ralph left a great legacy as a kind, gentle giant working out for 50 years! Growing old with dignity and respect! Rest in peace good Sir!
