Raymond A. Porter

Raymond A. Porter, 85, died Friday, August 12, 2022 at his home in Danvers, where he had resided for seventy-six years. Born in Danvers on August 15, 1936, he was the son of the late John Howland and Grace (Carroll) Porter. Mr. Porter had been employed as a custodian at Saint Mary of the Annunciation School for nearly two decades. He had a special affinity for trains and loved working on his model trains and attending train shows. He also enjoyed his 45s collection of music from the 1950s. He leaves two brothers, Warren Porter of Maine and Robert Porter, Sr. of New Hampshire, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families. He was predeceased by a sister, Doris Lavone. His Graveside Service will be Friday, August 19, 2022 at 10AM in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in Raymond’s name may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are by C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square.
