Richard A. Heger, Sr., 94, died Friday, May 27, 2011, one day short of his 95th birthday. He was the loving husband of the late Nora C. (Shiel) Heger, with whom he shared sixty-four years of marriage. Born in Boston on May 28, 1916, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary (Antaya) Heger. He was raised and educated in South Boston and Randolph and was a graduate of Randolph High School. Mr. Heger was employed as a machinist supervisor in various machine shops, including at Sylvania and Cannon Electric, and had retired after several years with Valley Screw Machine in Groveland. A longtime Beverly resident, Mr. Heger was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and a dedicated family man. He is survived by three children and their spouses, Kathleen and John Johnson and Richard and Nancie Heger, all of Beverly, and John and Carol Heger of Wisconsin, three grandchildren, Nicholas Heger of Providence, RI, Janessa Heger-Ewart of Georgetown, and Joseph Heger of Wisconsin, a beloved great-grandson, Johnny of Georgetown, a sister, Doris Chaney of CA, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Aurore Long, Eleanor Fredette, and Charles and Edwin Heger. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 11AM in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will precede the Funeral Mass from 9:45-10:45AM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 186 Highland Ave., Somerville, MA 02143.
