Richard E. Bezuka
June 19, 1942 ~ October 28, 2022
DANVERS-Richard E. Bezuka, a life-long resident of Danvers, was born into eternity on Friday, October 28, 2022, at Kaplan House in Danvers, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
He was the son of Alice (Gamache) and Ted Bezuka. Dick married Susan (Dodge) and they shared 57 years together. They were blessed with children: Dana E. Bezuka, Brenda Sue Bouffard and Paula O'Keefe , nine grandchildren, Tyler, Jocelyn and Tess; Megan, Olivia, and Evie; Dillon, Juliana, and Mason, son-in-law, James O'Keefe was always a phone call away to help with projects and emergencies, son-in-law, Len Bouffard, made sure Dick always had the best hot dogs at the Bouffard's many cookouts at Ken and Carol's. Dick leaves behind a sister, Janet A. Duest (he was predeceased by brother-in-law, Frank Duest), a sister-in-law and her husband, Priscilla and Kenneth Flake of Harker Heights, TX, and a dear aunt, Phyllis E. Gamache of Peabody.
For 32 years Dick worked at Sylvania (Osram) in Danvers until the company moved to Mexico. Twenty-five years of the time Dick worked at Sylvania he worked part-time at Your Market/McKinnon's. He enjoyed the many contacts with customers at the Deli Counter. Thermal Circuits in Salem hired Dick to check quality on Sylvania lamps that they used in different products they manufactured for another nine years. Dick loved coaching Danvers Little League baseball in the 70's and 80's when his son, Dana, played ball in Senior Division. He enjoyed his many pets over the years and was very happy when his daughter, Brenda Sue went into Veterinary Medicine. Gardening and raising the best tomatoes was a passion. He would say, "do not put flowers on my grave, put tomato plants"! Dick enjoyed many home projects over the years with his wife, Susan, as his #1 helper. Dick always found time to take his children to amusement parks during vacations and made 2 trips to Disney World and many other vacation spots. He would say, "places to go and things to do"! Home, family, and work ethic was the essence of a man well-loved.
A Requiem Eucharist will be held at 5PM on November 6, 2022, in the Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church, 188 Elliott St, Danvers, where Dick’s name and soul will be remembered. All other service will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd, Waltham, MA, 02452 or Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church, 188 Elliott St., Danvers, MA, 01923.
