Richard "Frenchy" Beauvais
February 5, 2011
Richard O. “Frenchy” Beauvais, 78, died peacefully on Saturday, February 5, 2011 after a brief illness at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. Frenchy was born in Salem on Nov. 1, 1932, son of the late Joseph and Lillian () Beauvais. After graduating high school he joined the Navy and saw the world. He then attended the University of Florida where he completed his bachelor’s degree in design with high honors. He went on to become the Art Director for Webster Industries where he specialized in package design. After leaving Webster, he was a successful freelance graphic designer. After 30 years in the field he retired and focused his unrelenting attention to detail building model ships. Frenchy was liked and respected by all who knew him and very much loved by his family and friends. He was a man of few but well-chosen words and enjoyed conversations with people from all walks of life. He had a way of spotting the smallest of details and then placing them within the context of the big picture: a trait that was greatly appreciated and often enlightening. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sheila Beauvais, his two daughters, Rebecca Bocuzzo and Suzanne Burns, his son Robert Beauvais, his seven grandchildren, Bonnie, Naomi, Hannah, Shayne, Masso, Lillian, Emelyn, his great-granddaughter Jodi, his sons-in-law Mike Bocuzzo and John Burns, his brother Donald and his wife Maureen, and two nephews Eric and Danny. He was predeceased by his son Dorick Beauvais and granddaughter Liza Beauvais. Relatives and friends are invited to a small gathering on Saturday, February 12, 2011 from 12 to 5pm At 600 Maple St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923.
