Richard W. Howard

PEABODY- Richard W. Howard, 89, passed away on December 25, 2014 in the Hunt Nursing Home in Danvers. He was the loving companion of Lillian Power of Danvers.
Born in Danvers on February 4, 1925, he was the son of the late Robert and Bertha (Rackliffe) Howard. He was raised and educated in Danvers. He served our country with the United States Army during WWII and was honorably discharged. Richard had been a member of the VFW Post 1011 in Peabody. He had been employed for over 24 years in quality control for Western Electric. Richard previously worked in the leather industry for 15 years at Modern Leather.
He is survived by two children, Keith Howard and his wife Kathy of Littleton, NH and Cheryl Jedrey of Virginia, his daughter-in-law Kimberly Howard, two brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law, twelve grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Lorraine (Gagnon) Howard, his children, Lon W. Howard, M.D. and Lisa Noyes and his siblings Edith Howard, Helen Sweeney and Phyllis Amor.
His Funeral Service will be held at 10:30AM on Wednesday December 31, 2014 in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Danvers. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 5-8PM in the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Richard’s name to the local humane society or a charity of your choice.
