Rita Bergeron

Rita (Daly) Bergeron, 88, died peacefully surrounded by her family on April 28, 2011 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House. She was born in Salem on December 20, 1922, the daughter of the late Ernest and Emilia (Ouellette) Daly. Rita was raised and educated in Salem and was employed for many years at Salem Hospital. She was a resident of Danvers for twenty five years and a parishioner of St. Mary of the Annunciation Church. Rita enjoyed spending her time following the Patriots, Bruins and Red Sox. She is survived by six sons; Richard and his wife Janice of Salem, Ronald of NM, Robert of Danvers, Raymond and his wife D’Ann of CT, Rene and his wife Judy of Peabody and Russell of Haverhill, a daughter; Ruth Skomurski and her husband Edward of Danvers, siblings; Lucienne Pelletier of Danvers, Ernest Daly of Salem and Roger Daly of Townsend. She had twelve grandchildren; Kelly Batista, Richard Bergeron, Melissa Bergeron, Amanda Mathis, Sandi Cote, Matthew Bergeron, Tracy Connolly, Brad Bergeron, Cheryl Randall, Raymond Bergeron, Danielle Nardello and Andrea Skomurski. She also leaves behind seventeen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings Robert, Roland, and Joseph Daly and Lorraine Brown. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9AM on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Visiting hours are Tuesday, May 3, 2011 from 4-8PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Rita’s name to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923, or North Shore Elder Services, 152 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
