Rita E. (Leclerc) Stepchin, 83, passed away on August 8, 2011 at Cedar Glen Nursing Home in Danvers. She was the wife of Henry Stepchin with whom she shared 64 years of marriage. Born in Salem on April 9, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mathilda (Guerette) Leclerc. She was raised and educated in Salem. She moved to Danvers with her husband over 64 years ago. Rita had been employed with L. H. Rogers in Salem and C.F. Tompkins in Danvers. She was also a communicant of St. Mary of the Annunciation Church in Danvers. Besides her husband, she is survived by a sister Gloria L’heureux and her husband Robert of Salem, several nieces and nephews and grandnieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Cecile Blanchette and Theresa Gagnon. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011 at 10:30AM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Salem. Vst. hrs are Wed. from 4-7PM.in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Rita’s name to a charity of one’s choice.
