Rita I. (Gourdeau) St. Pierre

79, passed away at the Kaplan Family Hospice House. She was the wife of the late Raymond St. Pierre. Born in Salem on Aug. 22, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Veronique (Morin) Gourdeau. Rita was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She spent most of her life as a homemaker, raising her children and taking care of her family. She enjoyed cooking for everyone and especially playing with the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and her wonderful friends. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Patricia St. Pierre of Haverhill, two daughters and a son-in-law, Sharon and Robert Julien of Salem and Debra Ryan of Peabody, two brothers, Wilfred Gourdeau of Beverly and Robert Gourdeau of Georgia, four sisters, Mary Gorman of Beverly, Theresa Brown of Danvers, Diane Gourdeau of Lynn and Linda Moore of Amesbury, eight grandchildren, Lisa Julien-Hayes, Robert Julien, Derrick Julien, Sarah Byrne, Christen St. Pierre, Nicholas St. Pierre, Amy Rivers and Daniel Rivers and four great grandchildren, Christian, Isabelle, Cole and Reed. She was predeceased by a brother Raymond Gourdeau. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9AM on Wed., Nov. 4, 2009 in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, North St., Salem. Vst. Hrs are Tues. 4-8PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers memorial donations maybe made in Rita’s name to the Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers., MA 01923.
