Rita M. Zagarella

Rita M. (Ouimette) Zagarella, 95, a lifelong Danvers resident, died peacefully on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House. She was the wife of the late Peter J. Zagarella, with whom she shared sixty years of marriage. Born in Danvers on October 26, 1927, she was the daughter of Daniel and Malena (Maynard) Ouimette. She was raised and educated in Danvers and was a 1945 graduate of Holten High School. Rita worked for many years as a purchasing agent at Hotwatt in Danvers Square. Rita loved dancing and met her husband on the dancefloor at the Oceanview Ballroom in Revere. She also enjoyed her bowling league, her Snowbabies collection, birdwatching, and reading. She was an avid Boston sports fan and was especially devoted to the Celtics. She leaves her children, Dona Page and her husband Donald of Harrisville, NH, Peter Zagarella of Peabody, William Zagarella and his wife Joanne of Amesbury, and Neal Zagarella and his wife Kerry of Ipswich, her grandchildren, Seth Page and his wife Erika, Josh Page and his wife Jamie, Danny Zagarella and his wife Mariah, Melissa Zagarella, Gregory Zagarella and his wife Brittany, Nathan Zagarella and his fiancee Kami, Gus Zagarella, and Henry Zagarella, her great-grandchildren, Cadence, Griffin, and Owen, and her sister, Eleanor Page. She was predeceased by her siblings Flora LaChance, Dorothy Gaudet, and Donald and Wallace Ouimette. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Weds., Jan. 4, 2023 at 10:30AM in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are Wednesday morning from 9AM-10:15AM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers.
