Robert C. Neilson

DANVERS- Robert C. Neilson, 74, passed away on November 10, 2022, surround by family, in Ledgewood Nursing Home following a brief illness.
Born in Lynn on March 5, 1948, he was the son of the late Freebern and Mildred (Brown) Neilson. Robert was raised and educated in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School in 1965. He had been a machinist for General Electric in Lynn and later AMTEK in Wilmington for over 25 years. Robert always had projects started around his home in Danvers and was a real handyman. He also enjoyed gardening and grew beautiful sunflowers and delicious red tomatoes. His favorite past time included going for weekly lunches with friends and attending a great cookout. He also loved dogs and always had a milk bone for the neighborhood dogs.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Rachel Neilson of Georgetown, his three grandchildren, Cecelia, Colin, and Jeremy, his sister, Bernice MacDonald of Lynnfield, and nieces and nephews, Jeanette MacDonald of FL, David MacDonald and his wife Ilene of Beverly, Andrew Wilsack and his wife Katie of FL, Thomas Wilsack and his wife Audrey of Andover; and Michael Wilsack and his wife Bethann of Westford. He was predeceased by his sister, Bette Wilsack.
The Neilson family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Robert’s friends and family who visited him in the hospital as this made his days brighter.
His Funeral Service will be held at 10AM on Thursday November 17, 2022, at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, in the funeral home. Our deepest sympathy and love to Pam, Robert, Rachel, Celia, Colin, Jeremy, his Dear sister Bernice and family. I remember his booming laugh and big grin. A dear friend to Paul, his generosity and companionship treasured.

I just found out about Bob. I was going n his wedding. In the video – I am the guy who n the left in the top hat. Sending my sympathy to Bob’s family.
So sad to hear of Bob’s passing. He was a good friend from grammar school days. Bob was such a good guy. His smile and laugh will always be the way many of us will remember him. We will miss him.
