Robert Edward Lawrence, 80, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 18, 2011. He was the husband of Nella C. (Lamoly) Lawrence, who was his loving and dedicated wife for fifty-four years. Born in Danvers on June 23, 1930, he was the son of the late Ruth (Tufts) (Lawrence) Page and the late Charles Lawrence. He was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Holten High School, Class of 1948. He then served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Lawrence began his career at GTE-Sylvania working in the manufacturing plant, and through his hard work and determination retired as an executive and a member of the Sylvania Quarter Century Club, working at the Sylvan Street, Endicott Street, and Boston Street plants. He then worked as a manufactures representative at Northeast Manufactures in Watertown and Woburn Supply in Woburn. He was also a skilled master electrician. A longtime Danvers resident, he resided in Hamilton for the last several years and spent much of the year in Port St. Lucie, FL. A parishioner of St. Richard Church, he enjoyed watching his children grow and play sports and also enjoyed Notre Dame football and following the stock market. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Kevin R. Lawrence and his wife Rose of Haverhill and John M. Lawrence and his wife Denise of Middleton, a sister, Sally Parisella of Beverly, three grandchildren, Thomas “T.J.” Lawrence of Haverhill and Christopher and Taylor Lawrence of Middleton, many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 24, 2011 at 9AM in St. Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Sunday from 3-7PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square.
