Robert J. Flynn

Robert J. Flynn, 73, died peacefully at his home in Danvers on Monday, August 8, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Catherine J. (Turner) Flynn, with whom he would have shared forty-five years of marriage in just a few short weeks.
Born in Peabody on July 28, 1949, he was the son of Joseph and Annette (Blair) Flynn. He was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School. From 1967 until 1971, he served honorably in the U.S. Air Force.
Bob was employed for many years at Murphy’s Fruit Market in Danvers Square and later, until the time of his retirement, for Saucony in Peabody.
A longtime Danvers resident, Bob was an active member of Danvers American Legion Post 180 and a volunteer with Operation Troop Support. A member of the Knights of Columbus, Thomas E. Power Council #1505, he especially enjoyed taking his children and grandchildren to the Knights annual Christmas parties.
Bob loved time spent with family; gatherings with family were always special. He also enjoyed bowling with his wife in their league at Sunnyside.
In addition to his wife, he leaves two daughters, Anne Marie Ulbin and her husband Richard of Milford, NH and Ashley Anketel and her husband Paul of Danvers, a brother, Ronald Flynn and his wife Kathy of Milford, NH, three grandsons, Andew Ulbin and his wife Ari, Michael Ulbin, and Alex Ulbin, three great-grandchildren, Veronica, Violet, and Wyatt, and numerous nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 15, 2022 at 10:30AM in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Sunday from 4-6PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Firectors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square.
