Robert W. Flynn
June 19, 1962 ~ February 19, 2024
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Bob Flynn, 61 on February 19, 2024. He was a PGA Golf Professional & the Director of Golf at Bill Flynn’s Far Corner Golf Course in Boxford, Mass.
Bob was a lifelong resident of Danvers, born on June 19,1962 to Janice L. (McCormick) Flynn and the late William J. Flynn. At a very early age, Bob enjoyed working side by side with his father at the golf course. After graduating from St. John’s Prep, Bob continued in the family business, pursuing a career in golf. Early in his career as golf professional he managed Lakeview Golf Course, introducing people of all ages to the game. He later moved on to manage the Mount Hood Golf Course, then spent time consulting on a number of courses in MA & NH. For the past 30 years, he has been Director of Golf at Bill Flynn’s Far Corner Golf Course.
Bob met his beloved fiancée, Lisa Mallard and shared the past 28 years together enjoying Bob’s other favorite passions, boating & traveling to the Caribbean. These trips were shared with a number of close friends and were his fondest memories.
His closest childhood friend, Craig Rogers, remained a constant in his life. They enjoyed many snowmobiling expeditions over the years, especially time spent on the trails in Naples, Maine.
He was a member of Hawthorne Cove Marina for the past 35 years. This is where he built many close relationships on the dock with Tommy, Steve & Joan, Paul & Lorri, Joe & Sharon, Fred & Deb as well as countless others. Everyone who knew Bob knew how much he loved the marina life, even providing his friends with lobsters from his Flynn Lobster Company.
Bob will always be remembered for his generosity and compassion for helping others, especially those in need. We’ll always remember watching him dance to Kung Fu Fighting and enjoying a special cocktail known to friends as the “Smidge”. We couldn’t have asked for a better fiancé, son, brother, uncle, friend and will miss Bob every day. His memory will live in the hearts of all those who loved him.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, William Flynn, and his brother, Michael Flynn. He is survived by his mother, Janice Flynn of Danvers, sister Joanne Flynn & her husband Leonard Borchers of Salem, NH, sister Janna Flynn & her partner Thomas Silveria of Danvers, niece Kyra Robin & her husband Michael Robin of Windham, NH and niece Jordan Rochna of Danvers.
Services will be held privately. A Celebration of Life will be planned for later in the spring.

A man who always gave and never took. A friend who always shared your pain but never asked you to share his. A gentleman who always brought smiles and never tears, until now. The Sea will not be as blue, the cocktails not as smooth, the fish not as big, and the golf course not as green. Heaven needed your smile and laugh.
The best. There will never be a better person.
So sorry to

I am very sad. Bob was always willing to give me time for a friendly conversation at the course. He once thanked me for replacing a divot. I did not know who he was at the time. I heard someone say “they are FOB”. Friends of Bob. An acronym to his many friends on and off the golf course. Rest in peace my friend
To the Flynn family, Bobby will be missed by all, our hearts and prayers are with you all. He always wore a smile and enjoyed the company of so many of us who played at the course. He was a great friend, supported so many groups looking to host a fund raiser for their cause. I don’t think no was in his vocabulary.
