Roland David Couillard, affectionately known as Rolly or Rockboy, passed away on Thursday, August 29th, 2024, at Kaplan Hospice House in Danvers, Massachusetts, after a valiant eight-year battle with cancer. He was 70 years old.

Born on September 27th, 1953, in Lowell, Massachusetts, Roland graduated with the Lowell High School Class of 1972. He spent most of his life in Lowell before relocating to Seabrook, NH, with his beloved wife, Nancy (Webb) Couillard. Roland and Nancy were married for 30 years.

He was the son of Roland Couillard and Constance (Vourloumis) Couillard, both of whom predeceased him. Roland is survived by his wife, Nancy (Webb) Couillard; his children Tanya (Morin) Carter, Keith Morin, Justin Morin; his cherished grandchildren Kyle Carter, Kate Carter, Marikate Morin, Dominick Morin, Zander Morin, and Arabella Morin; and his great-granddaughter, Aurora MacShane. He is also survived by Ashlee Adams, the mother of Dominick, Zander, and Arabella Morin; Erik Carter, the father of Kate and Kyle Carter; and Cyndi, Tanya (Morin) Carter’s partner.

Roland was a passionate musician who cherished playing the guitar and enjoyed smooth jazz. He continued his musical journey at Berklee College of Music in Boston and loved making music with his brother James, including a memorable collaboration at a recording studio in Boston during their younger years. Roland also played in a band and performed throughout his life. His love for music was matched only by his devotion to his family. Roland was known for his deep affection for his children and grandchildren, often found playing games of wiffle ball, watching sports, or enjoying movie nights with Nancy. He also treasured the lifelong friendships he built through his work, valued the bonds he formed over the years, and was grateful for the recent opportunity to reconnect with his childhood friends.

A hardworking and generous man, Roland was always ready to help others and was known for his vibrant personality and sense of humor. He is also survived by his siblings James Diprima, George Couillard, and Robert Couillard; his niece Beth Peralta; and his cousin Bessie Wallach. He was predeceased by his sister, Jo Ann Di Prima, and his parents.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the medical staff for their compassionate care during
Roland’s illness. Roland will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In accordance with Roland’s wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the GoFundMe campaign established to support Roland’s wife, Nancy Couillard, with future expenses during this difficult time. https://gofund.me/36076f87

  3. Nancy, you married a good man when you married my friend Rollie. I’m so sorry for your loss, but he will always love you, and will be with you always in your heart, and will wait for you. Rolly, my brother from another mother. You have been one of my best friends for many years! We knew each other since our teen years. I learned much about guitar playing from you back then also. We had many good times together and lots of laughs that I will always remember. I’m sorry you had to leave us all, but you fought a good fight for eight years and God thought it was time for you to rest and be with Him. I pray I will meet you in heaven when the time comes. May you be with all of our other friends who have passed before you from the Acre. God bless you, Nancy, and your family. Until we meet again! Your old friend,

  4. Hello their my dear friend,

Nancy I am sorry to hear about Rolland.
When he had his food truck, we at Liberty were one of the stops he had. He would always have what he called beanies and weanies warm hidden on his truck for me. He was great to everyone he came in contact with.
My best to you and your family
    Archie Griffin
