Scott Michael Ingoldsby, 54, passed away on March 5, 2025, in Amesbury, Massachusetts.

Born on September 24, 1970, in Salem, Massachusetts, Scott grew up with a deep appreciation for life and adventure. A graduate of Danvers High School, Scott pursued higher education at Salem State University in Salem, Massachusetts, where he graduated magna cum laude. His dedication to learning and excellence was evident throughout his academic journey.

Scott had a lifelong love for the outdoors and found joy in activities that brought him close to nature. Whether camping under the stars, jet-skiing across the water, boating with loved ones, or snowmobiling through winter landscapes, Scott embraced every opportunity to be outside. Lake Winnipesaukee held a special place in his and his wife’s heart—a cherished retreat where they spent countless days making memories on the water.

Music was another passion that defined Scott’s life. A devoted live music fan, he attended many unforgettable concerts with his wife over the years. Music spoke to Scott in a profound way, with Tom Petty and Mötley Crüe holding a particularly special place in his heart. The lyrics of Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down” resonated deeply with Scott’s spirit—words that reflect strength and resilience:

“Well, I know what’s right
I got just one life
In a world that keeps on pushin’ me around
But I’ll stand my ground
And I won’t back down.”

Scott is survived by his loving wife, Amy (Pitz) Ingoldsby; his mother, Joyce (Sullivan) Ingoldsby; and his sister, Tracy Ingoldsby. He was predeceased by his father, Richard Ingoldsby.

Scott’s adventurous spirit and love for music will be remembered by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who mourn his passing.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I remember Scott riding the elementary school bus with me. He was always a happy go lucky guy. We graduated high school together and were friends on Facebook , we unfortunately didn’t talk much but he will never be forgotten

  2. I went to Danvers High with Scott, and I remember him as being really nice and kind. He seemed to have a youthful spirit. I’m so saddened to hear of his passing, and my thoughts and prayers go out to his family. May he rest in peace.

  3. I remember Scott well in highschool. Always smiling, always kind. I also remember the last time I saw him, back in the early 90s at a Sports bar in Salem. Even though it had been years since we had seen each other, he gave me a big hug and that wonderful smile. Thinking of his family and wife, Amy, during this incredibly difficult time.
