Shirley G. Picillo

February 4, 1928 ~ August 30, 2016
Shirley G. (Williams) Picillo, 88, died Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at the Masconomet Healthcare Center in Topsfield following a lengthy illness. She was the loving wife of the late Vincent E. Picillo.
Born in Danvers on Feb. 4, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Rachel (Duprey) Williams. She was raised and educated in Danvers and was a 1946 graduate of Holten High School.
Shirley was employed for several years at Lerner’s at the Northshore Mall and as the receptionist at the Danvers Town Hall prior to her retirement.
A lifelong Danvers resident, she was a parishioner of Saint Richard Church. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and active at the Danvers Senior Center. She enjoyed bowling and volunteering at the polls at each election.
She leaves two sons and daughters-in-law, Dana and Christine Picillo of Middleton and Kenneth and Deborah Picillo of Cortez, CO, two grandchildren, Emily Picillo and her husband Greg Carlson and Ben Picillo, and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Lorraine Niciewsky.
Shirley’s family is grateful to the loving care she received at both the Masconomet Healthcare Center and from Care Dimensions.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 9AM in Saint Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Friday from 4-7PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley’s memory may be made to the Danvers People-to-People Food Pantry, PO Box 2076, Danvers, MA 01923.
