Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. The world is sadder for losing Steve. My world is richer for having known him. He brought joy to my life, and he will live with me forever.

  2. Honored to have known Steve, he was the most kind and generous person. An infectious smile. A Veteran who continued to serve his community and loved his wife Ellen and family deeply. ❤️

  3. We are all filled with sadness. Steve was the sweetest brother-in-law who always had a smile for everyone. He leaves a huge void in his family.

  4. I will always remember how Uncle Steve would show me what he was growing in the garden that year and how proud he was. And when I think of a proud veteran it’s his image that comes to mind. He will be greatly missed.

  5. Heartfelt Sympathy to Ellen and the entire family.

Steve was the kindest man I have ever met. It was an honor just to be in the same room as him. It was such a pleasure to spend summer days at his home. Enjoying the pool and admiring his beautiful garden. We always left with a variety of vegetables. I met Steve through Operation Troop Support and enjoyed the memories through all those fund raising events we shared together.
He will be deeply missed but never, ever forgotten. Thank you Steve for all you have done for our veterans and our community. RIP

    Love,
Brenda & David Brennan and family

  6. Sorry for your loss. Prayers to all the family. Steve will be missed at the Thursday Morning Veterans coffee at the Danvers Senior Center every week. RPI Steve my Vietnam Veteran Brother

  7. My earliest memories of Steve were in the 1970’s playing softball on a team with my dad. Since then, my mother and father remained close to Steve and Ellen by virtue of Operation Troop Support. Many a kind word was spoken over the years about Steve. My family sends their warm regards and deepest condolences.

  8. May he rest in peace. I am glad I was able to chat with him the day before he passed.
    God Bless his family.

  9. On behalf of the Polish Legion of American Veterans Post 55 in Salem, we are eternally grateful for Steve’s time and dedication at the many events and ceremonies over the decades and the unending contributions that he has made to our post. We will miss you friend and brother.

  10. Steve was a special person I sat with weekly at the Veteran Social and marched with him during the Memorial Day parade may he rest in peace with God

  11. Ellen,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time. I’m so sorry for your loss!
    Sincerely,
    Kathy (Kew) Obara &
    Family

  12. We will always remember uncle Steve and his veterans hat and wonderful smile. He will be greatly missed.

  13. Dear Maria,

I was deeply saddened to hear about the loss of your father-in-law. It’s never easy to lose someone, especially someone who was as kind and good-hearted as him. I may not have had the privilege to know him personally, but I know how much he meant to you and your family.

In these moments of great ordeal, words are useless. Grief can be so hard, but our special memories can help us cope. Remembering his wonderful and gentle soul will forever remain in our hearts. May he rest in peace.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences and know that my thoughts are with you during this difficult time. If there’s anything you need or anything I can do to ease your burden, please don’t hesitate to let me know.

As a symbol of remembrance and to honor his life, I will light a candle for him. May its light guide him on his journey to tranquility and may it bring a glimmer of comfort to you and your family.

    With deepest sympathy,
    Cris
