Susan Conley Walsh

Susan Conley Walsh, 65, passed away surrounded by her family and loving dog Teenie on September 10, 2011 in Florida. She was the loving and devoted wife of Martin J. Walsh. Born in Lawrence on November 20, 1945, she was the daughter of Amy L. (Carlson) Conley of Middleton and the late Ervin Conley. Susan was a graduate of Masconomet High School, Class of 1963. She also attended the Andover Institute of Business. She was employed with the Town of Danvers in both the Electric Light and Water Depts. She enjoyed sports both indoors and outside, including the shooting range, golf, bowling, tennis, golf, fishing with her father, and bocce. She was an archery champ in the state of Maine and was known as "Annie Oakley" in her Rod & Gun Club at the Danvers Fish and Game Club. She loved gardening and landscaping around her yard. She also enjoyed seeing family and friends while she worked in the information booth at the Topsfield Fair every year until her illness. Susan fought a four year battle with the dreaded cancer disease, and was very determined and strong until the end. Besides her mother and husband, she is survived by a daughter Christine Masiello and her husband Carmine of Salisbury, a son Garry Tilton and his wife Samantha of Malden and a step-son, Wenham Police Chief Kenneth Walsh and his wife Melody of Groveland, siblings, David, Marc, Jan and Tari Conley all of Maine, five grandchildren, Carmine "CJ" Masiello, Casey Masiello, Janelle Kingston, Joanna Kingston, and Megan Walsh, mother-in-law, Dorothy Walsh of Salem, sister-in-law, Kathleen Turner of Merrimac, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister Deane Anne Conley A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 10:30AM on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011 at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Vst hrs are Friday from 4-8PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Susan’s name to The Florida Dachshund Rescue, Inc., Attn: Chris Meunier, Treasurer, 3612 Oakwood Court, Panama City Beach, Fl 32408 or Cornerstone Hospice of The Villages, 601 Casa Bella, The Villages, FL 32162-9985.
