Sylvia L. (Ingalls) Jackson

DANVERS- Sylvia L. (Ingalls) Jackson, 83, passed away on January 26, 2016 in Kaplan Family Hospice House. She was the wife of Herbert E. Jackson, with whom she shared 28 years of marriage. Born in Lynn on July 30, 1932, she was the daughter of the late J. Willis ‘Bucky’ and Dorothy (Lacombe) Ingalls. She was raised and educated in Lynn and graduated from Lynn English High School. Sylvia loved classical music and received her associate’s degree in music from North Shore Community College and also attended Gordon College for music. She taught piano for many years, touching many lives. Sylvia had been employed at the former Jordan Marsh. Sylvia was a lover of all animals but especially enjoyed spending time with her cats. She also enjoyed painting, gardening, and watching the birds visit her backyard. In addition to her husband, Herb, she is survived by two sons, Greg Hogan and his wife, Sally of VT, Gary Hogan and his partner Barbara of NH, four grandchildren, Trevor and Patrick Hogan and Shanade and Cassidy Hogan,two siblings, Jeffrey Ingalls his wife Marsha, of Ipswich, their children Dorothy ‘Dodie’ and Jeffrey, and Daryl Ingalls of ME and many nieces and nephews. Sylvia’s Funeral Services will be celebrated privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Sylvia’s name to the Kaplan Family Hospice, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA. 01923.
