Thomas J. Burke

Thomas J. Burke, 82, died Saturday, June 6, 2015. He was the loving partner of Helen Armstrong of Georgetown. Born in Somerville on August 29, 1932, he was the son of the late Ralph and Sophie Burke. He was raised and educated in Somerville and was a graduate of Somerville High School and Goettingen University in Germany. He served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Burke owned and operated The Light Shoppe in Waltham. He loved camping and sailing, especially from Winter Island, and was an excellent chess player In addition to his beloved partner, Helen, he leaves two sons, Erich and Thomas Burke; and three grandchildren, Alex, Stephanie and William. His Graveside Service will be Thursday, June 11, at 12 p.m., in Annunciation Cemetery, Hobart St., Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
