Thomas J. Page Jr. of Peabody, MA passed away on November 17th, 2012 peacefully at home with his family by his side. Tom was born on January 26th, 1924 in Lawrence, MA. After graduating Lawrence High School, he volunteered at the age of 17 for the Navy and served as a radio operator aboard the U.S.S. Greene during WWII from 1942 to 1945. He was awarded several medals for his service in both the Atlantic and Pacific theatres. Before going to work for General Foods Corporation after the war, he attended Merrimack College and Boston University. He retired in 1986 from General Foods, where he served as district manager. A lifelong trombone player, Tom played in countless Dixieland and Big Band Jazz groups on weekends. A proud veteran of the Navy, Tom attended many reunions of his shipmates in various US cities with his family. He is survived by Lillian, his loving wife of 68 years; his daughter Linda, wife of Kenneth Leahy of Windham NH, his son Tom and his wife Renee of North Andover MA, son John and his wife Ann of Dania, Florida, his 5 grandchildren Lauren & Scott Leahy, Kellan, Harrison and Danielle Page, and one great grandchild, Lauren J. Reitler. Thomas will be remembered of many wonderful traits, including his great love of family, his humor, his humility, his trombone, and if his ball ended up in the woods, his choice words on the golf course. His Funeral Service will be Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 10AM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 4-7PM in the funeral home. Burial will be private.   1. I’m so saddened by Tom’s passing. He was a wonderful man,and I loved him dearly. I’m glad we got to cross paths in this lifetime….he will be sorely missed,and lovingly remembered.   4. dear Aunt Lil, Linda, TJ and Jack, and everyone else. we are very sad to learn of Uncle Tommy’s passing. we know he was the Love of your Life, Aunt Lil, and you of his. it was always very sweet to see the two of you togehter. the love surely showed. we have very fond memories of all the good times we enjoyed along with all of you. i remember the night before our wedding, @ Sam & Catherine’s home. we had quite a nice evening there, and i remember Uncle Tom leading a lovely rendition of “Let Me Call You Sweetheart”. then it was time to “serenade the bride”. i think he was among the gentlemen under my window that night. and, his wonderful music @ our reception. seems like yesterday, doesn’t it? so many Christmas Eves, wedding and anniversary celebrations, summer barbewues and even a few funerals along the years. we hope to be able to come down this evening, or, tomorrow morning. you are all in our thoughts and prayers. we know your hearts are heavy. love, Eddie and Chris
