Thomas J. Langlois, 50, passed away peacefully on Oct. 6, 2010 surrounded by his family at the Kaplan Family Hospice House. Eldest son of the late Carole (Hughes) Langlois and Thomas J. Langlois of Salem and Danvers, he was born in Boston on Aug. 17, 1960. Tom was raised and educated in Salem and graduated from Bishop Fenwick High School in 1979. Tom entered the United States Marine Corp in 1979 and served his country until 1983. During his service time he was recognized for his sharp shooting accuracy and his talent and skill in heavy equipment repair. After his service time, Tom returned home to Mass. to become an expert heavy duty mechanic and former owner of Langlois Trucking. For several years he worked for the Pelletier and Milbury Co. in Danvers. Tom took pride in his work, and was renowned for his mechanic ability. Tom enjoyed boating, fishing and spending time with his children and many friends. He will be remembered for his dry wit and his ability to spin humor into everyday life, even as he grew sicker. He is survived by his children Karissa and Jake Langlois both of Danvers. He is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, John and Laurie Langlois and his sister and brother-in-law Karen and Paul Nielsen, all of Danvers. In addition, he is survived by his Aunt Dorothy Tremblay of Naples, Maine and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Tom wanted to express his heartfelt thanks to Jackie D., Emily G., his cousins, friends, and especially his best friend Phil “Woody” and his wife Lesley Blanchette, and all who have invested in making his life rewarding and comfortable, particularly over the past two years. A Funeral Service will be held on Tues., Oct. 12, 2010 at 11:30AM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Vst. Hrs are Mon. 4-8PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Tom’s name to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.

  3. Tom will be missed and yes, even in his sickness his sense of humor was larger than life. I enjoyed each time he made his way over to my house with his dog in tow and we would chat forever. Ralph and I will miss you Tom; thanks for the memories brother and being you!!!!
