Timothy S. Hawkes
October 8, 1948 ~ September 14, 2022
Timothy S. Hawkes passed peacefully on September 14, 2022 at Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the son of the late Stephen L. and Myrle (Greene) Hawkes.
Tim was born and raised in Danvers, later living in Southern California and New Hampshire. He attended Danvers Public Schools and graduated from Danvers High School, Class of 1966, then attended Southern New Hampshire University.
After school he went on to a career in finance where he served as CFO at Essex Bituminous Co. of West Peabody and Pacer/Anixter in Woburn.
He loved his family, his friends, antique cars, and dogs. He loved traveling with his partner, Kelly, and they shared adventures everywhere from Ireland to Hawaii.
He was charitable and generous. He donated blood, supported many charities, volunteered at Eisenhower Hospital in Palm Springs, and raised money as a walker in the Lynda J. Talbot Memorial Walk/Run, which provides financial support to local families battling cancer and scholarships to Danvers High School students. He walked in memory of his son-in-law Jake’s aunt, Emily Cohen.
He leaves behind his partner Spencer Kelly Kerrigan with whom he shared a happy home in Seabrook, New Hampshire.
Besides his partner Kelly he leaves behind his sister, Judith Hawkes Flachbart of Danvers, his son Bryan Hawkes of West Peabody, his son Jeffrey and daughter-in-law Kerrie of California, and his daughter Robyn Hawkes and son-in-law Jacob Cohen of Burbank, CA.
He also leaves behind two very special friends, Terry Hawkes of Peabody and Glenn C. Meehan of Los Angeles, CA.
Tim was predeceased by his brother Robert L. Hawkes and his brother-in-law Robert K. Flachbart .
As a final gift, he made the beautiful decision to donate his body to Tufts Medical School so future healthcare providers can get the training they need to help others.
A memorial service celebrating Tim’s life will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 11AM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Relatives and friends are invited. I went to Tapley School and Danvers High with Tim. He will be sadly missed, such a wonderful kind man. My condolences to his partner and his family.
My favorite memory of Tim was being taken to antique car shows and always feeling welcomed at his home.
Remembering my special cousin and the yearly trips to Bramen street. He was such a great guy to be with esp getting rides in his cars!!! Thank you to Tim for all the wonderful laughs and memories. ‼️😍🥰Love Kathy Sartor Valentine. ❤️
Please accept my sincere condolences to Tim’s family. I worked with Tim for many years at Pacer Electronics and then Anixter.
He was a wonderful person.
“Uncle Tim” / Cousin Timmy had such an engaging spirit, wit, sense of humor, joyfulness, and passion for life. My most vivid memories are of Tim at Thanksgivings at Hawkes Manor (where he manned the electric slicer with aplomb) and then at Tim and Terry’s home post-meal, for pool games and of course, the player piano! With love to Tim and all. Cousin Jesse
I will always carry with me my memories of a joyous summer I spent with Tim, me with eyes wide and Tim-the tour-guide visiting places he had never been to before. We knew each other from years in Palms Springs, but I had never been to Seabrook, at the corner of ocean and MA. (Curiously enough, my middle name is Seabrooke, with that extra E)
From NYC to the beaches of Ogunquit, then into wilderness of upstate Maine, we were on the go. Often with the reliable assistance from Kelly. Always with enough time to see the historical sites right nearby. The ones most local folks never see. Like the mansions in the Hampton neighborhoods.
Or the cold cold water right there at Seabrook’s beaches. Kids were frolicking in and out of the crashing waves, while Tim and I tipped-toed in ankle deep, lips turned blue and out we came. Did not try that again.
We had a great time that summer.
Thank you, Tim.

Tim and his mint condition 1959 Edsel Corsair. Tim was a great friend and fan of the Edsel. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh and kept the old cars moving….

Tim was an amazing man who had the natural ability to put others at ease with a smile or a laugh. He also had an amazing attitude that he maintained even while enduring all that he had to go through. He was a wonderful cousin and I’ll never forget all the fun times and laughs we had on Bramen Street. He was an amazing man who will be missed by all those who had the pleasure to have known him, we were so blessed to have been a part of his life. Sending love and prayers to his family. Rest in Peace Tim. Maria Sartor-Miller
