Wendy (Delp) Stevens
May 14, 1952 ~ April 13, 2014
Wendy (Delp) Stevens, 61, passed away surrounded by her family on April 13, 2014.
Wendy was a graduate of Danvers High School, Class of 1970, lived, worked and raised her children in our community until her passing. In addition to working with Headstart to protect children, she was a beloved server at many favorite eateries including: Family Fare, the former Cabot Place and Red's in Salem. She was a deeply compassionate, loving and hard-working wife, mother, sister and friend to all. She was, indeed, the embodiment of New England goodness.
She is survived by her husband, David; three sons, Adam, Corey and David, Jr.; and her grandson, Jackson Stevens. She was the former wife of the late Robert French.
I am so deeply saddened by your loss. I send my love and prayers to all! Love, Judy Haley and family
Wendy had never been to the Gloucester annual summer Fiesta so we invited her and Dave and some other friends to join us. We ate outside a restaurant on a beautiful day had a few drinks and sang songs. We got a little loud but some of the other patrons even joined in singing and smiling and having a joyous time! Then we walked to the beach and watched the boat races. Wendy had a blast! Wendy loved it so much she wanted to return next year. I’m so glad I got to see her laugh and share even more memories with her. I’ll miss my best friend…XOXO
