William B. Moody, 76, died at his home early Sunday evening, July 26, 2009 following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Betty F. (Lively) Moody, with whom he shared nearly fifty years of marriage. Born in Baltimore, MD on Jan. 26, 1933, he was the son of the late William and Mamie Moody. He was raised and educated in Baltimore and had been a Danvers resident for many years. Mr. Moody served honorably in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was employed as a machinist for General Electric where he was employed at the RiverWorks plant in Lynn. An avid sports fan, he was a devoted and loving father and grandfather and was expecting the birth of his third great-grandchild in September. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Nola Connor and her husband Michael of NH, Kelline West and her husband Randy of Danvers, Brian Moody and his wife Susan of Salem, and Bruce Moody and his wife Ellen of Danvers, a sister, Linda Willard of MD, a brother, John Moody of Chelsea, 13 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Corrine Connor. Visiting hours are Wednesday, July 29, 2009 from 4-7PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. A Funeral Service will follow at 7PM in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be private.
