Such a sweet guy and very sad news. I’ll always remember “the pear tree” sending hugs and peace to all the family❤️
I can’t believe another Danvers cousin has detoured from the road of life. Cousin Billy was nearly as much of a firecracker as his big brothers Jack and Kevin. They were always a fun bunch, although now we only seem to meet at funerals… And always at Lyons!
Although it’s been decades since I last saw Billy, he has been, and will forever be, in my heart. He was one of the kindest souls I’ve ever known. I called him “Sweet William “ because he was – sweet, kind, compassionate. My heart goes out to his family and everyone who was fortunate to be loved by him. Fly free Billy…
I keep trying to wake up from this nightmare, but it just keeps on going. Now the realization of you not being here is coming to fruition. My best friend, comrade, confidant and brother in all sense of the word is gone. You were an amazing friend to June and I. Always asking, every day, how she was feeling, your Junnie. What you did for June and I just before your and Debbie’s wedding was just over the top incredible. A story only a select few will ever know. That how good a friend you were. Our conversations about the old days and days to come were amazing. Hearing you talk about Chase and your eyes would just light up. The endless videos of him that you would send to me were amazing. Just talking about Debbie and Tia and Billy would give you a second wind along with Matt and Danielle. I wish you knew how tough writing this is for me. Someone wake me up! My normal day would start with a text “Ill have a regular coffee and an egg sandwich and ill pay” no more text. “Lunch”? no more text. I’m waiting for the next text Bill. I’m sure you have already arrived so I’m sure when my father says hello, he will follow with one of his silly jokes and with your politeness you will give him a good-hearted laugh. Say hello to your Dad, Mother and Jackie for me. God speed old friend. We hardly had the time to know you.

I believe there are reasons people like Bill come into a person’s life. Bill was just an amazing light to everyone and unto himself. Listen there are no perfect people in this world, we all have flaws but there always comes a time when some people, even later in life, rise above and show their true selves. Bill was one of those people. He was probably the most caring person I knew. Would do anything to help others. Could be strangers, friends or relatives and there story very few people know. You knew when he was exhausted from a long are plenty of examples. All I know is he was an amazing friend to both my wife June and I. Always asking how his Junnie was feeling. What he did for June and I right before his wedding was incredible act of kindness and friendship, a day at work because he put 110% of himself out there but on our rides home, he would talk about Chase, his grandson, he would just get a second wind and his eyes would just light up. Showing me endless videos of him as he grew. Endless talks about Debbie, and oh God how he loved her, bringing a tear to his eyes and his kids Tia and Billy, just pride beyond words. Matt and Danielle loved them. I keep trying to wake up from this nightmare, but I have come to realize that its real that your gone Bill. I hope I’m half the man you were. You were my friend, my comrade and my brother. I’ll miss the banter back and forth. Sports, politics, religion whatever came into our heads. I will think of you every day along with my father. Best friends forever Bill. God, please wake me up.
June and Joey
