William Sterling Pace, 89, died Wednesday, December 26, 2012. He was the husband of the late Edna (Murphy) Pace. Born in Boston on Dec. 6, 1923, he was the son of the late William and Rose (Austin) Pace. He was raised in Boston by his father and late step-mother, Mildred Pace Hall, and resided in East Boston for most of his life before moving to Topsfield in 2002. During WWII, he served honorably in the U.S. Army. Mr. Pace was employed by the U.S. Postal Service at South Postal in South Station, Boston for many years. He was later employed by Stop & Shop of Saugus for more than ten years. A loving father, grandfather and great grandfather he was a communicant of Saint Rose of Lima Parish in Topsfield. He is survived by two daughters, Roberta Cody and her husband Bill of Topsfield and Ronita Pace and her husband Stephen Cordeiro of Lee, two grandchildren, Noel Cody Mumford and her husband Jesse of Woodside, NY, Sean Cody of Topsfield, two great-grandsons, Liam and Connor Mumford, his sisters and brothers, Margaret Celata of Lowell, Carl Pace of Tewksbury, Joseph Pace and his wife Nancy of North Andover, Mary Lou Allen and her husband David of FL, Roberta Deputat and her husband John of Tewksbury, and Kathleen Jasilewicz and her husband Michael of Tewksbury, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings John Wyley, Robert and James Pace, and Rose Wallace. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2012 at 10AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, Park St., Topsfield. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Topsfield. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4-7PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 1 Bulfinch Place #201 Boston, MA 02114.
