Yvonne I. (Blanchette) Lapointe, 92, died Monday morning, May 2, 2011 following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Adelard "Archie" Lapointe, with whom she shared 65 years of marriage. Born in Danvers on June 19, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Jules and Ameline (LeBeouf) Blanchette. She was raised and educated in Danvers and was a lifelong resident of Danvers. For many years she was employed at CBS-Hytron and Devcon. A creative woman, she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, crafts, and playing the organ. She was a member of the Beverly Art Guild, the Danvers Senior Center, and for several years she sang with the Sweet Adelines. She enjoyed spending time with her many friends and was dedicated to her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Lorraine LaForge and her husband Norman of Florida, Lucille Provost and her husband Donald of Salem, Denise Lapointe and her companion William Richard of Danvers, Robert Lapointe and his companion Judy Souza of Danvers, and Ronald Lapointe and his wife Joyce of Rowley, 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; a dear sister, Cecile Cote of Danvers; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Rene and Raymond Blanchette. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at 9 a.m. in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Donations in Yvonne's memory may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.

  1. Dear Lu & Donny, Ed & I are sorry to hear about your Mother’s passing. It was her time that our Lord had finally called her home. She is now at peace with no more suffering and living her eternal life with our Lord. Our Lord teaches us to realize that this world is passing, that our true future is the happiness of heaven, that life on earth is short, and the life to come eternal. I know in my heart that the Lord lead Yvonne safely through death to the endless joy of heaven. She will always have the love and remembrance by her family,friends, and grandchildren.
