If you live in Danvers or the surrounding north shore area, the Lyons and Sons family is a well known business. But if you’re not from the area or out of state, please know that the reviews posted here and mine are completely honest. Our family often says, Love is in the details. CR Lyons and his staff are incredible. When I called him about my Uncle Jack’s passing, I felt as if I was talking to an old friend. I live in California and the thoughts of coordinating an out of state funeral was overwhelming. He immediately helped plan, address, coordinate, and manage details you don’t even know you need. He is so thoughtful and caring, but more importantly, supportive, and understanding as if he has been a member of your family. My uncle’s funeral was beautiful. CR and his staff made sure we were not worried about anything. His staff just took care of everybody. The snow on 3/4/23 was quite intense at times, it didn’t matter to the staff. They held our hands so we could get in and out of the car safely, they held umbrellas to keep the slush away, he had our readings ready. It is inevitable that loved ones will pass. It’s such a stressful, challenging and mind boggling process. But not for CR and the Lyons Funeral Home staff. Your event will be handled and the your loved ones details are just taken care of. It’s such a relief when you have so many things to think about. Think no further if you need your loved ones services planned. CR and the team, please know we are grateful for everything you did for Uncle Jack. We are touched by your genuine concern. The love for what you do for your families shows in the details. Planning a wake and funeral service for a parent is never easy, whether it is expected or unexpected. I want to express my sincere thank you to C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Home for making everything easy and perfect for my family to honor my mother. Amanda & C.R. were available right from the start with my first phone call and then throughout the days leading up to the service and then even after, once I had a few more questions. They took the time to help us with our arrangements, even with the little personal requests, they were able to accommodate us and help us with decisions as well. The level of service and professionalism was top notch! We cannot thank the staff enough for making it all go so smooth and for their help during such a difficult time. Thank you!

In the days after the death of our family member, we (like most families) were emotional, overwhelmed, and stressed about all that needed to be taken care of. Starting from the moment we called them from the Kaplan Hospice House, CR and Amanda took care of every last detail so that we could focus on taking care of ourselves and honoring the life of my father-in-law. The funeral home itself is stunning. The Deacon they recommended (from St. Mary's Church) was incredible - he took the time to speak to several family members during the days before the service so that he could speak personally about my father-in-law. The graveside ceremony was just what we wanted. There are so many choices to make, CR guided us through each one and made sure everything was exactly how we planned it. Several people commented about how nice the wake and burial services were. CR Lyons and Sons Funeral Home came highly recommended and I'm so grateful we chose them.

I have been to many funeral services at C.R Lyons and Sons that when my dad passed away in May, we didn’t think twice about having C.R take care of our arrangements. CR and Amanda went above and beyond for our family. They made our visitors feel safe during this time of grief and a pandemic. I had the touching experience of attending your recent Christmas Memorial Service and want to commend everyone for the amazing experience! It was done with dignity, sensitivity and such love for all who attended! You left nothing out, and greatly gave the grieving attendees everything we needed and beyond! The beautiful words spoken by the MC, the music chosen and sung by Jody and Anne, the lighting of the candles, the refreshments and the gift to each of the symbolic and stunning , AMARYLLIS, provided HOPE and measured joy to each person present there!
Thank you seems insufficient to express gratitude to those who did so much for all who attended the event, but words never do suffice to express such deeply felt emotion! Prayers for all of you will replace the inadequacy of words!

They are the best all around! CR and Amanda are awesome! They make the whole experience so much easier! CR even went shopping for an outfit for my mom when the outfit we provided didn't work because her scars from the Iv's she had were still weeping!! He is the best!! I would never go any where but Lyons ! They are truly the best in every way!!

My family has trusted C.R. Lyons and family Funeral Home with our loved ones since the 1970's. C.R. and Amanda are the most caring, compassionate, real, down to earth people you could ever hope to never have to meet. Unfortunately, it's inevitable, but you could not be in better hands. When my Dad was dying and being mistreated in the long term care facility that had him and nobody else would help, I was desperate. As a last resort, I called C.R. and he got the Hospital to accept my father back as an inpatient after I had been told no, over and over. He then sent the ambulance to pick him up immediately. When my Dad died, he and Amanda took care of everything perfectly. I could not imagine that anyone else would have cared that much.

My wife recently passed away and I needed to organize a service for her. Lyons took care of 99% of the process and tasks required. I couldn't have been more pleased with how the everything was organized along with the final service.

Amanda and her team make the whole thing seem effortless but also very personable as we went through the process. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble and my requests were first and foremost in forming the final service
