Alfred T. "Fred" Mscisz, 83, died peacefully on December 6, 2023, in Daytona Beach, FL, following a period of declining health. He was the husband of Ruthann (Kodes) Mscisz for more than sixty years. Born on September 9, 1940 in Peabody, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late John and Anna (Babiarz) Mscisz. A lifelong resident of Danvers, Fred was a pillar of the community and a devoted family man, celebrated for his hard work, kindness, and generosity. Fred's journey began on the family farm, instilling in him a work ethic and sense of responsibility that would define his life. Fred’s family came first and foremost. He spent countless hours watching the next sporting event. He was always at the rink or at a field watching his kids and grandkids, nieces and nephews, cheering for every victory and enjoying every moment. For more than 55 years, Fred was the proud owner and operator of A.T. Mscisz and Sons Construction and Cemetery Services. Under his leadership, the business thrived, contributing significantly to the Danvers and wider North Shore community. Fred's dedication to his work and his ability to guide his company with integrity and foresight were unparalleled. Always active in the community, Fred was a member of the Polish Club in Danvers and the Knights of Columbus. He embodied the spirit of community service, always ready to extend a helping hand to those in need. Fred's presence was a comfort to many, and his willingness to contribute his time and resources made a lasting impact. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. Since 1988, he enjoyed spending time at his second home in Daytona Beach. Fred's legacy is carried on by his loving family: his wife, Ruthann; son, Michael of Danvers; grandchildren, John Mscisz and his wife Danielle, T.J. Mscisz and his wife Kaitlyn, Morgan Mscisz, and Jared Mscisz; great-grandson, Talon Mscisz; brothers and sisters-in-law, Chester Carol Mscisz of Topsfield, Louis and Jean Mscisz of Danvers; and a host of nieces and nephews. Fred was predeceased by his son, Alfred T. “Ted” Mscisz, Jr., and his siblings, Eleanor Walor, Jeanette Lebel, Stanley Mscisz, and Paul Mscisz. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 from 4-7PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Relatives and friends are invited. All other services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fred’s name to The Polish Club, 12 Cheever St, Danvers, MA, 01923.
