Charles W. Andress, 82, beloved husband of Margaret Andress, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage, passed away Saturday in Beverly Hospital with his family by his side, following a long illness. Charles was a longtime resident of Danvers. He had been employed with Sylvania on Boston St in Salem as a machinist and later moved to their Endicott St location where he retired in 1991 after over 30 years of service. Charles was an avid woodworker and photographer, and had a lifelong passion for music. In addition to his wife, he is survived by seven children, Charles Andress and Cindy Andress, of Hope Mills, N.C., Alrene Ware and husband, Barry, of Newton, N.H., Linda Andress of Easthampton, Nancy Williams and husband, Bruce, of Danvers, Beverly DiVita and husband, Kenny, of Danvers, John Andress of Salem and Betty Tarr and husband, Billy, of Beverly; three nephews; eighteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. His Funeral Service will be celebrated at noon on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Sylvan St., Danvers. Visiting hours are one hour prior to the service from 11AM-12PM in the funeral home.
