Jacquelin (Clement) Scudder, 89, passed away on March 22, 2014 (also her wedding anniversary date) at C.M.C. Hospital in Manchester, NH. Jacquelin was the beloved wife of the late Winthrop R. Scudder, Jr. Born in Melrose on April 21, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Fred M. and Marguerite (McLeod) Clement. Jacquelin was raised and educated in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School. She went on to graduate from Endicott Junior College. As a younger woman she enjoyed volunteering at local hospitals. She also enjoyed making jewelry for her father’s store in Melrose, Clement’s, where she worked for many years. She also worked as a medical secretary and at the cosmetic department at Almy’s in Danvers Square. Jacquelin was an avid golfer and a member of the Olde Newbury Golf Club and also enjoyed bowling, bridge and the beach. She is survived by her son Rick Scudder of Bedford, NH, four grandchildren, Benjamin Stickney and his companion, Melanie Vencis of Byfield, Kimberly Warren of FL, Travis Stickney and Seth Stickney of NH, seven great grandchildren, Gabby Scudder, Gaven and Gaige Rodrigues, Jake, Brooke and Mackenzie Warren and Grady Stickney, her daughter’s companion Bill Smith of Bradford and her beloved cat, Max. She was predeceased by her daughter Pamela Stickney, her great granddaughter, Jodianne Scudder and her dear friend, Paul Jackman. Her Funeral will be celebrated at 11AM on Friday, March 28, 2014 in the Congregational Church of Topsfield, 9 East Common St., Topsfield. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Topsfield. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made to the Animal Rescue League of NH, 545 NH Rte. 101, Bedford, NH, 03110.
